Acquolina in North Beach is a decent place to grab some good italian food. Being right next to Washington Square lends itself to the “little Italy” vibes of this restaurant. They have all the right things on the menu, but feels less authentic than other nearby places. The prices are an bit high, and the staff is slightly inattentive, but the food is still great quality. This place is always busy, and does get a bit noisy at times. If Tony’s or Golden Boy’s lines are too long then this could be a good alternative. I’d have to say this is more if a tourist restaurant

Wife and I were going to a comedy show at Cobb’s and wanted to eat dinner close by. We’ve eaten at Tony’s and IMHO it’s overrated but this place was across the street and the menu looked good. My wife loved her pasta with asparagus and salmon and my pizza was amazing pepperoni and sausage. The crust outside was great interior crust a bit thin and soft for my taste but the sauce and cheese were perfect. Waiters were very attentive and beer and wine prices were reasonable. For me it was really a great experience and a surprise since it didn’t show up in pizza search. Highly recommend it. Seating outside on a hill was cool people watching.

We had tried to get to the pizza place across the street, but why? This place is amazing. Low wait time with great food and service. However, the bathroom door sticks so push hard. I would recommend this location to anyone who wants a great pizza to share.

Excellent place to eat real Italian food, had a delicious Parmigiana and Ravioli, so similar to my (Italian) grandma’s recipe! Also very tasty dessert, and the staff was kind and quick, will surely eat here again!

Delicious food in the heart of little Italy. Fresh food made quickly made even better by a chili oil they source. Now the pizzas did taste good but just wasn’t what I was expecting. I guess I just wanted more of a hand held slice. They were also a bit overpriced for the portion your getting too. That chili oil does go hard tho. Now I’m realizing that I should’ve waited in line for Tony’s.

My husband and I popped in her for lunch on a busy Sunday afternoon. We were able to get a seat right away despite the restaurant being almost completely full. The waitstaff were attentive and friendly. I did feel slightly rushed, it didn’t feel like the kind of place where we could truly hang out and have a leisurely meal. It is also pretty loud inside. They do offer outdoor seating and I imagine on a beautiful day it would be a great option as it overlooks the park. All of our dishes were good. Well prepared and great flavor combinations. The house made chili oil on the table was better than other places I have tried. Food is definitely more expensive than some other places, especially for lunch but fingers crossed it is because they are buying better ingredients and paying their staff well. We had the focaccia bread with olive oil started, a spaghetti with meatballs, a margarita pizza, and a Mediterranean salad, plus a lemonade and it came out to $98 with a 22% tip. All in all my husband and I were happy with our meal and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this restaurant if someone is in the area looking for solid Italian food!
